Dogs and cats

 Filling out an application does not guarantee you an animal from our rescue. Each animal has their own specific needs therefore we do our best to place them in homes that can meet them and allow them to thrive. We understand it can be disappointing to not get the animal you want but please understand that we are putting the animal's needs first! 

Any puppies under 6 months old, available for adoption through Philly Rescue Angels, must be adopted into a home with another young, playful dog. We are aware this rule frustrates people but this is the most beneficial situation for a puppy. We are not the only rescue who implements this rule, many known rescues have this policy as well. ​To Adopt From Philly Rescue Angels Inc. the following criteria must be met:

• Must be at least 25 or older to adopt. 
• ​Must have a fenced yard. 
• ​Must sign contract, agreeing to spay/neuter the puppy at the appropriate age, if you fail to do so, we have the right to bring the puppy back into the rescue's care. 

We understand that our requirement for puppies under 6 months to have a playful dog companion in the home might seem like a lot.  It’s not something we take lightly, and we know it can be frustrating for some people. 

Unfortunately, due to adopters not following through with our socialization  rule and us not being able to offer socialization classes at this time, we have to keep this rule in place. 

We know this rule can be frustrating, and not everyone can have two dogs. But if you could take a walk in a kill shelter and see how many dogs are scheduled to be euthanized or have died due to not being dog friendly or properly socialized as a puppy, you would understand why we have this rule, especially for bully breeds. 

This rule is crucial for the well-being of these young pups. They are at a critical stage of development, and proper socialization is vital to ensure they grow into well-adjusted, confident dogs.
